This Privacy Notice is for business activities performed and undertaken by Martell’s of Sutton Ltd (ATN Martell’s Int Removers) a company registered in England and Wales (collectively referred to as ‘Martell’s’, ‘we’, ‘us’ or ‘our’ in this policy)

What Personal Information (data) we collect

Martell’s may collect, use and retain the following personal data from our current, future and potential clients:

Name including names of spouses and other family members.
Addresses (current, future and contact addresses for removals/storage clients).
Telephone numbers (landline and mobile).
Email address, I.P. address and electronic information gathered during any transactions.
Your purchase history and when you make a purchase, your payment card details.
When you move and/or store items with us, your payment card details.
Your communication and correspondence with Martell’s.
Your communication and marketing preferences.
Your survey responses.


How we use your Data

Martell’s uses your personal data to:

Provide you goods and services from our retail stores.
Provide you with quotations for removals and storage services.
To undertake removals and storage services.
To arrange delivery of furniture and other products purchased at our retail stores.
To verify your identity.
For credit reference checks.
For crime and fraud prevention, detection and related purposes.
Where we have a legal right or duty to use or disclose your information (for example in relation to an investigation by a public authority or in legal dispute).
To inform you of promotions/offers featuring products and services that may be available to you at discounted prices.


Marketing

Martell’s may use your data to send you marketing information via the postal mail to update you on current promotions/offers at Martell’s retail stores and online store.  With your consent Martell’s may also use your personal data for electronic marketing purposes to inform you of current offers/promotions.

Martell’s aims to only keep you updated about products and services that are of interest and are relevant to you as an individual.

In order to make certain services and promotions available to you we may need to share your personal data with some of our Marketing Service Providers.  Martell’s only allows its Marketing Service Providers to handle your data when we have confirmed they apply appropriate data protection and security controls.  We also ensure that our marketing service providers only use your personal data to provide you information relating to Martell’s products and services, not for any other purpose.

Martell’s will enter into/agree to a Data Processing Agreement with any third-party processer who are employed by Martell’s, including marketing service providers, to ensure the safe, secure and responsible use of Martell’s customer’s personal data.

Aside from our Marketing Service Providers Martell’s will not disclose your personal data to any third party unless we have a legal obligation to do so or it is required for the legitimate pursuit of our normal business activities.

We will not sell or rent out our customer data to other organisations for non-related marketing purposes.


How your privacy is maintained?

Martell’s are committed to keeping your personal data safe and secure.  Our security measures include:

Encryption of data stored on computers.
Paper documents stored in locked cabinets
Regular data audits undertaken to ensure personal information no longer required is destroyed/deleted.
Company policies setting out our approach to data security
Ongoing training to employees
Regular cyber breach testing

Your legal rights relating to your personal data

You have the following legal rights in relation to your personal data that we collect and retain.

The right to ask what personal data we hold about you.
The right to ask us to update and correct any out of date or incorrect personal data that we hold about you.  This service is free of charge.
The right to request that we delete your personal data. Unless we have a legal obligation to continue to hold such data.

The rights can be requested verbally or in writing and Martell’s will respond to the request within one calendar month.


What you can do to help protect your data

Martell’s will never ask you to confirm any bank account or credit card details via email. If you receive an email claiming to be from Martell’s asking you to do so, please ignore it and do not respond. If you are using a computing device in a public location, we recommend that you always log out and close the website browser when you complete an online session. In addition, we recommend that you take the following security measures to enhance your online safety both in relation to Martell’s and more generally:

Keep your account passwords private. Remember, anybody who knows your password may access your account.
When creating a password, use at least 8 characters. A combination of letters and numbers is best. Do not use dictionary words, your name, email address, or other personal data that can be easily obtained. 
We also recommend that you frequently change your password; avoid using the same password for multiple online accounts.
